Crazy music workshop
with Tom Kessler from the Andesground Label
Building interactive electronic musical instruments
Aimed at musicians and sonic enthusiasts of all skill levels and styles, this workshop covers what you need to know to get started in embedded electronics for real-time interaction.
Participants will be guided on how to get started in building their own stand-alone electronic instruments through open-source hardware platforms, and how these instruments can be programmed and used for sound generation, gestural control, and as an effects processor. Participants will learn about examples of how these instruments can be included in existing multidisciplinary performance setups, and there will also be informal performance moments of these systems in action.
No prior knowledge of electronic is necessary.
